The ADHD Budget Planner App on a laptop and a phone, both showing the same safe-to-spend number

If this is you, keep reading

You are not bad with money. You are doing arithmetic nobody should have to do standing in a shop.

The balance in your banking app is a lie of omission. It does not know that rent leaves on Tuesday, that the car insurance renews this month, or that $180 of it was quietly promised to Christmas. So you guess. And you are wrong by the 28th, every single month.

1

The money that was never yours

You see $600 and relax. Four hundred of it belongs to bills that have not left the account yet. You were never careless — you were handed a number that was hiding something.

2

The bill you absolutely knew about

You did not forget it. You could not hold it in your head at the one moment it mattered. A late fee is not a character flaw. It is a tax on working memory, and you have been paying it for years.

3

Day nine of the perfect system

Twelve tabs, colour-coded, beautiful. Then one missed day, and opening it starts to feel like being told off. So you stop opening it. And then you stop looking at money at all.

Here is the part nobody says out loud: none of that is fixed by trying harder. It is fixed by a tool that does the holding for you.

Same account. Two very different numbers.

Your bank tells you what is in there. Not what is yours.

What your banking app shows
$0

Looks fine. Feels fine. Then rent leaves on Tuesday, the insurance renews, the phone bill lands, and the money you set aside for Christmas turns out to have been lunch.

What is actually safe to spend
$0

After the bills, the envelopes, the goals and what you already spent. Thirteen days to payday, about $41 a day. This is the only number that ever needed to be big.

Same money. The difference is $2,314.42 of things you were about to forget.

Try the idea right here, on this page

Tap a spend. Watch the number do the thinking.

This is the mechanic of the whole app, working. Log something and the safe-to-spend figure drops by exactly that much. Tap the big number to see how it was built. Tap Undo if you regret the coffee.

These are the example numbers from the free demo. In the app, every line here opens on a tap and nothing is hidden behind a summary.

Fifteen seconds, no voiceover

This is the real app moving, not a mockup.

A spend gets logged, the big number drops by exactly that much, the arithmetic opens up, and then the calendar, the paychecks and the debt date.

The maths on the app itself

A subscription app is the most expensive way to be told you are broke.

The popular budgeting apps charge between $8 and $15 a month. Stop paying and your own history goes behind a paywall. Here is what three years of that looks like next to this.

A $9.99 a month app, three years
$0

Thirty-six payments. Plus every price rise in between. And on the day you cancel, you are locked out of your own numbers.

This app, forever
$0

One payment. Every update I ever ship, free. The file is yours — it cannot be taken back, and it cannot go up in price on you.

That is not a discount. That is a different kind of thing you are buying.

Why the last four things did not stick

Every tool you have tried made you do the work first.

None of them were bad. They were all built on the same wrong assumption — that the hard part is discipline. It is not. The hard part is the twelve seconds between wanting to log something and having logged it.

Printables

Lovely on day one. But paper cannot add up, cannot warn you, and is sitting on your kitchen table while you are standing at the checkout.

Spreadsheets

Powerful, and entirely yours to build and maintain. One wrong tap overwrites a formula, and on a phone you are pinching across cells the size of a grain of rice.

GoodNotes planners

Beautiful handwriting on a tablet, and still just paper underneath. Nothing calculates. Nothing notices the month with three paydays.

Subscription apps

Account, trial, card, bank login, then a charge every month for the rest of your life. Stop paying and your own numbers go behind a paywall.

This compares categories of product, not any one named competitor.

Built ADHD-first, not decorated afterwards

Seven decisions that are the reason this one sticks.

Every one of them exists because the usual advice — be more consistent, try harder, just remember — is not a feature.

01

Three seconds, or it will not happen

Logging has to be faster than the urge to not bother

Amount, category, done. It guesses the category for you and it remembers your usual ones as one-tap presets. A habit does not survive a nine-field form, and everybody who built one of those forgot that.

  • Setup is three questions, not thirty
  • Coffee and lunch are one tap, not seven
  • A streak that rewards opening the app, not being perfect
The Log screen: one-tap presets, amount, category, envelope, and a single Add it button
The Calendar screen on a phone, built for one thumb
02

Undo on everything

Nothing in here is unrecoverable

The real reason people abandon a spreadsheet is one bad tap they cannot take back. Here every destructive thing is reversible, and the app tells you so at the moment you do it — no dialog asking whether you are sure, just a way back.

  • Delete, edit, import, reset — all reversible
  • Built for a thumb, not for a mouse pretending to be one
  • Add it to your home screen and it opens like any other app
03

Income that never behaves

Twice a year a month has three paydays. It finds them for you.

Paid every two weeks, and suddenly a month has an extra paycheck in it — the single best month of the year to kill a debt, and most people never notice it arrive. This looks six paydays ahead and flags them. Got a bonus, a side job, or a paycheck that landed different? Log the real figure and the whole period recalculates around it.

  • Weekly, biweekly, semi-monthly or monthly
  • Three-paycheck months found and marked in advance
  • Correct a paycheck after the fact without breaking anything
The Paychecks screen: six paydays ahead and which paycheck pays which bill
04

Money you cannot accidentally spend

What you set aside leaves the number before you can touch it

Fill an envelope and that money is gone from safe-to-spend the same second. Not a warning after the damage — it simply is not in the number any more. This is how the car service in November stops being a catastrophe in November.

  • Sinking funds for the bills that arrive once a year
  • Refills itself every pay period if you want it to
  • Every envelope shows what is planned, what is spent and what is left
The Envelopes screen with money set aside per category
05

An actual date, not a vibe

The month you stop owing anybody anything

Snowball or avalanche, your call, both compared side by side. It gives you a real date and the honest interest figure — not the flattering one — and that date moves every time you pay something off. Watching it move is the part that keeps people going.

  • Both methods, with the difference in months and dollars
  • Interest told straight, never rounded in your favour
  • An extra payment shows you instantly what it bought you
The Debt screen: a debt-free date, what is owed today, and every debt with its clear date
06

The forty-eight hour rule

Park the impulse buy. Most of them answer themselves.

Want it? Put it on the wait list instead of in the basket. Forty-eight hours later the app asks you again — and by then most things have quietly become no. It also shows you what saying no has added up to, which is a number most people have never seen about themselves.

  • The waiting does the arguing, so you do not have to
  • Routines: the same short payday checklist every time
  • No shame anywhere in the interface. Not one guilt-trip.
The 48-hour wait list: what is on the clock, the money you kept, and what you already decided
Three real printouts produced from the app on Letter and A4 paper
07

Yes, really — print any screen

Some weeks the plan only works if it is on the fridge

Every screen prints properly on Letter or A4 — laid out for paper, not a screenshot with the sidebar cut off. For a lot of people it is the difference between a plan they look at and a plan they walk past twelve times a day.

  • All thirteen screens, not a summary page
  • Letter and A4, margins that actually fit

Where the spending actually happens

Built for a thumb in a checkout queue.

Not a desktop app squeezed onto a phone. Full-size targets, one column, the important number at the top, and a bottom bar you can reach without moving your hand.

Today, Log, Envelopes and Calendar screens on four phones

Make it yours in two taps

Ten palettes. Light and dark. Twenty different ways to look at your money.

This matters more than it sounds. A money app you find unpleasant to look at is a money app you will not open — and an app you do not open cannot help you. Pick the one you actually like. Change it whenever you are bored of it.

10 palettes

Sage, clay, harbour, plum, forest, ember, mint, berry, slate and ink. Every one of them designed, not generated.

Light and dark

Both, for every palette, switched in one tap. Dark mode is not an afterthought bolted on at the end.

Corners and density

Soft, round or sharp corners. Comfortable or compact spacing. Larger text if you want it.

38 currencies

Formatted the way your country writes money, not just a dollar sign glued to the front.

Everything, at one price

Thirteen screens. All of them, on day one.

Not a taster with the good parts locked. There is no paid tier and no add-on, because there is nothing else to sell you. Click through them — this is the real app, not a mockup.

One file. Every device. Wi-Fi off.

It opens in the browser you already have

There is no installer, no app store, no account and no server. It is a single file, and it works on a plane, in a basement, and on hotel wifi that cannot load a photo.

  • Mac, Windows, Linux — Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari
  • Android — add it to the home screen and it opens like a real app
  • iPhone and iPad — through the free Documents app, the guide shows the exact taps
  • The same file, the same numbers, on all of them

The same app running in German

English · Español · Deutsch · Français · Italiano

Five languages, and the whole app moves — not just the menus

Every label, every date, every chart, every explanation. Pick one on the first screen or switch in the middle of the year. Your numbers stay exactly as you typed them.

  • Thirty-eight currencies, formatted the local way
  • Switch language any time without losing a thing
The Today screen in dark mode

Nobody sees your numbers. Including me.

There is no server, so there is nowhere for it to go

No account, no sync, no login. It never asks for a bank connection, a card number or a password, and it makes zero network requests of any kind — that is checked automatically every single time the file is built, not promised in a policy page.

  • The honest flip side: it lives in your browser, so clearing your browsing data clears this too
  • Which is exactly why backup is one tap, and CSV export is built in
  • I would rather tell you that here than have you find out in March

Before you spend a cent

Do not take my word for any of this. Go and use it.

The complete app — all thirteen screens, all the palettes, the charts, the debt engine, every button — is sitting on the internet right now with example numbers already in it. Not a video. Not a tour. The actual thing you would be buying.

  • Log a spend and watch the big number move
  • Tap any total and see the arithmetic underneath it
  • Change the palette, flip it to dark, switch it to Spanish
  • Break something and undo it
  • Print a screen if you want to

It costs nothing and asks nothing. No email, no card, no sign-up, no trial that starts counting down. Nothing you type there is saved, and nobody follows up. Look at it, decide it is not for you, and close the tab — that is a completely fine outcome.

The four things people say right before they buy

I have bought budget templates before and never used them. Those asked you to build something. This one asks you three questions and hands you a number. And you can find out for free, above, whether that is true.
I do not want another app that needs my bank login. It never asks. It makes zero network requests — there is not even a server to send anything to.
What if I stop using it in week two? Then it costs you $29.95 instead of $9.99 a month forever. And a streak that rewards opening it — not perfection — is there for exactly that week.
I am on my phone all day, not a laptop. It was built for a thumb first. Add it to your home screen and it opens like any other app, offline included.

A person, not a support queue

I built this myself, and I answer my own messages.

I am Vlad. TheSheetFlow is me — there is no team and no ticketing system. Almost every screen in this app exists because a buyer wrote to me about something that did not work in a spreadsheet, and it turned out to be easier to build the thing properly than to explain the workaround one more time.

If anything is wrong or missing, please tell me before you leave a review. Nearly everything people write in about turns out to be a five minute fix, and I would much rather fix it than argue about it.

Vlad — TheSheetFlow

Before you decide

The questions people actually ask.

Is this an app I install, or a spreadsheet?

Neither. It is one .html file that opens in the browser you already have — Chrome, Safari, Edge or Firefox. Nothing installs, nothing goes near an app store, and there is no spreadsheet underneath it. On Android you can add it to your home screen and it opens like any other app.

Does it connect to my bank?

No, and it never will. It never asks for a bank login, a card number or a password, and it makes zero network requests of any kind — that is checked automatically every time the file is built. You log what you spend, and it does everything else.

Where are my numbers stored?

In your own browser, on your own device. There is no account and no server, so there is nowhere else for them to be. The honest flip side: clearing your browsing data clears this too, which is exactly why backup is one tap and CSV export is built in.

Will it work on my iPhone?

Yes, through the free Documents app — the setup guide shows the exact taps and it takes about a minute. On Android it goes straight to the home screen. On a computer you just double-click the file.

Is there a subscription, a trial, or a paid tier?

None of the three. You pay once, you get every screen, and updates are free for life. There is no locked feature, because there is nothing else to sell you.

I get paid every two weeks and it is never the same amount.

That is the exact case this was built for. Weekly, biweekly, semi-monthly or monthly — it looks six paydays ahead and flags the months with three paychecks. If a paycheck lands different, log the real figure and the period recalculates around it.

What if I do not like it?

Use the complete app above before you pay anything — it is the same build as the file you would get, and it costs nothing. Digital files are generally final sale, but if what you receive is faulty or does not do what this page describes, email within 14 days and I will fix it or refund you in full.

Do I need to be good with spreadsheets or with money?

Neither. Setup is three questions — your currency, how often you are paid, and roughly how much. Then a real number appears and you are using it. If you can log a coffee, you can run this.

Can more than one person use it?

It is your file. Put it on your laptop, your phone and your tablet, and give a copy to your partner if you want. There is no licence server counting devices, because there is no server at all.

Open it. Use it for ten minutes. Then decide.

That is the whole pitch, and it is the only one I have got. The complete app is sitting there, free, with example numbers already in it. If the big number makes sense to you, come back and buy it. If it does not, you have lost ten minutes and nothing else.
